Atira-te ao Rio
Atira-te ao Rio restaurant has a fantastic location on the south bank of the Tagus River, so it offers a superb view over Lisbon. It is located at Cais do Ginjal, a spot also known for its photographic interest. Atira-te ao Rio is cosy and simply decorated, absorbing the atmosphere of the original building. Outside and in warmer days, the terrace allows you to enjoy the sun and the views – a set that goes along well with the fish-based menu of the restaurant. As it is on the other bank of the river, it is strongly advisable to take the ferry boat from Cais do Sodré to Cacilhas.
The cuisine of Atira-te ao Rio is international and includes dishes for all tastes. Highlights are swordfish ceviche, grilled seafood, shrimp bobó (a brazilian stew), the Atira-te burger and seafood risotto. For desert, cherry and apricot cake is a very popular suggestion. In addition to these, on Saturdays, at lunch, you’ll find a brazilian feijoada (beans stew) buffet. And you should also taste caipirinhas, another specialty of the place. You can also reach the Atira-te ao Rio by car, but the complete adventure always requires a footpath along the river to get to this restaurant.
