Moules & Beer
Moules & Beer, located in the familiar neighbourhood of Campo de Ourique, is self-explained with the name: it offers ten different mussel dishes and twenty beer brands. For those who don’t appreciate this shellfish, there’s a loin beef waiting for you. But back to mussels, let it be known that you can taste them Belgian way, Thai way, with chili, with curry or just natural. Concerning beers, the Portuguese brand Sovina is sold here, as well as foreign brands like Duvel, Stella Artois and Kwak. Moules & Beer is open every day of the week.
Moules & Beers, which decoration is clean and based in light shades, got its inspiration in Belgium, a country where mussels and fries are extremely popular – it is, in fact, considered to be the national dish. But this mussel cult was well adjusted to the Portuguese taste and pockets. Its owners have another restaurant in Cascais, called Moules & Gin. The main difference, as you might have guessed by now, is their focus on gin instead of beer. Still, in Campo de Ourique’s Moules & Beer, you can enjoy your moules with a premium gin as well.
